Job Role: 1st Founding Engineer – VC-backed AI Startup – Healthcare

Techmunity are proud to exclusively partner with a VC backed London startup who are applying the latest developments in artificial intelligence to improve how care is delivered to some of the most vulnerable individuals in society.

Following a successful pilot and early commercial traction, they are now bringing development in-house and hiring a Founding Engineer -the first technical team member who will play a critical role in building the product and shaping the future of the platform.

This is a rare opportunity to take ownership of key technical decisions and work directly with the Founder to define both the engineering strategy and the culture of the team as it grows.

There is a clear path for this role to evolve into a CTO position, for someone excited by both technical leadership and meaningful impact.

Responsibilities:

• Design and build scalable backend systems and APIs
• Integrate advanced AI/LLM services (e.g. OpenAI, Gemini, Claude) into core workflows
• Collaborate on product design and develop intuitive, accessible front-end interfaces
• Define and implement cloud infrastructure, DevOps, and deployment processes
• Contribute to long-term technical vision and architecture

Who You Are:

• Strong experience with Python, React, PostgreSQL, Azure, Docker, and Git-based workflows
• A track record of building MVPs or production systems from the ground up
• Direct experience integrating AI/LLM technologies into real-world applications
• Comfortable operating in a fast-moving early-stage environment, with a hands-on, pragmatic approach
• Passionate about using technology to solve real human problems

Package & Flexibility:

• Salary: £80,000–£100,000 depending on experience
• Equity: up to 1.5%
• 25 days holiday + bank holidays
• Budget for learning and development (tools, courses, conferences, etc.)
• Hybrid working: Ideally 2–3 days per week in Central London
