Job Description

AI Engineers – Come Build Real Agentic Systems with Applied LLMs (Remote / EU Timezones)

Techmunity is partnering with a fast-growing AI startup backed by top tier investors (including Sierra Ventures and Village Global), with $11M in funding, a current valuation of $50M, and a product already in the hands of paying customers.

This team isn’t early-experiment mode – they’ve secured $100k+ ACVs, landed midmarket and enterprise clients, and are scaling fast.

They’re pioneering an entirely new layer of AI infrastructure: empathic, autonomous agents that handle complex customer interactions across channels.

Think of them as the AI-native version of Zendesk or Intercom – but designed from scratch to reason, respond, and act on behalf of real businesses, not just chat.

Now they’re hiring a Senior or Staff AI Engineer to help architect and scale these systems.

You’ll have the option to grow into a Head of AI role over time – but if you want to stay deeply IC and hands on, that’s equally welcome.

You’ll join a senior, async-first engineering team (~15–20 engineers), with a talented Junior AI Engineer – she’s someone you’ll enjoy mentoring and working alongside.

🔧 What You’ll Do

  • Design, prototype, and productionize LLM-powered features—agent tooling, memory, retrieval, and orchestration
  • Build real-world applied systems that solve high-volume, high-impact customer problems
  • Work closely with product, infra, and full-stack engineers to ship quickly and safely
  • Contribute to architectural decisions and AI team direction as the company grows
  • Explore how to best integrate Claude, OpenAI, RAG pipelines, and other agentic frameworks into enterprise use cases

✅ What You’ll Need

  • 3+ years experience in applied ML or AI engineering roles – you’ve shipped, not just researched
  • Solid grounding in LLMs, embeddings, vector search, prompt design, and tooling
  • Strong engineering practices – testable code, readable systems, async-first workflows
  • Startup-scale thinking: ideally from 100–500 person orgs where systems had to scale but still change fast
  • Comfort operating with ambiguity, autonomy, and end-to-end responsibility
  • Excellent written communication: you can clearly express design decisions and tradeoffs

⚙️ Bonus Points

  • You’ve built agentic systems (LangChain, AutoGPT, CrewAI) or similar orchestration patterns
  • Comfortable working in or around full-stack systems (Node.js, React, Postgres, TypeScript)
  • Exposure to data tooling (Spark, DBT) and backend infra (AWS, Redis, SQS)
  • You bring interests beyond pure code – design, UX, psychology, systems thinking

🧘‍♀️ Culture, Compensation & Process

  • Remote-first, async-native culture (most engineers in EU/CET timezones)
  • Salary: Circa $100–120k USD (via Deel for EU-based hires)
  • Equity: meaningful early-stage package
  • Benefits: unlimited PTO, paid parental leave, AI tool budgets (ChatGPT Pro, Claude, Perplexity)

You’re not joining to tune models or write docs for a platform that never ships. You’ll be building applied AI systems that already power real customer interactions, with new feature challenges showing up daily.

Apply now or email reuben@techmunity.io and I’ll share more about the product, founders, and what to expect in the process.
